Welcome Summer!
As you can see, I have not been very good with posting news and updates. It’s been almost 18 months since my last post when I launched the new website. It’s not to say nothing exciting has happened since then. Quite the contrary. It’s just been, a busy year.
Almost exactly a year ago today I was installed as the President of a local volunteer women’s organization, Sandpipers. This organization has been very near and dear to me for many years and it was an incredible honor that they asked me to take on this role. Sandpipers is ran by 100% volunteers, all women. The organization was founded in 1931, during the Great Depression, as a way for local women to help their neighbors with emergency financial assistance. 85 years later Sandpipers’ volunteers still support this mission by helping individuals and families in need in the South Bay area of Los Angeles through various philanthropic programs and community service activities. You can learn more about Sandpipers here…www.sandpipers.org.
The above photo was taken at our annual Back to School Shopping Day where Sandpipers hosts over 75 low-income children for a morning at Kohl's shopping for new school clothes and supplies. That's me in the lower right hand corner!
The past 12 months have been an incredible experience that I will always cherish. The only downside was that I did not have much time to focus on JLynn Jewelry! I did what I needed to do to get by but I spent many nights dreaming the days were 48 hours long so I could do more. Thankfully my customers have continued to support me through this time. I can not thank you enough!!
Now that my term as Sandpipers’ President is ending I am reviving my passion for creativity with a whole new level of excitement. There are many things I hope to explore on both the creative and business side in the coming months. This includes a refresh to my website and some new collections coming soon.
Thank you for stopping by and checking out what I’ve been up to. It’s going to be a terrific summer!
